Gavi
The place is covered with fine tea estates, mist enveloped hills and pristine forests and nature friendly scenery located in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala. Gavi is located inside Ranni Reserve forest. The people living here are involved in eco-tourism activities and these are their main source of livelihood like: home stays, tourist guide and soon. Gavi is the part of Periyar Tiger Reserves. The entrance fee is rupees 25rupees per person, 50rupees per vehicle. (Cameras 25rupees video cameras 100rupees). Forest tent camping’s are available from November- March.
Places to visit : Canoeing, boating, hiking to Meenar, Chenthamara Kokka, and valley view point. (Outdoor camping: night safari to Kullar, pullumedu, kochu pampa and pachakanam.)
Famous For : Bird watching and famous elephants in Kerala, nature walk, trekking, wildlife safari.
